  • A linear chain of blocks. (possibly foldamer bricks or other self-assemblies)
  • Each block having reasonably high symmetry.
  • Blocks are linked together on edges to form a series of hinges.

  • the chain shall fold to a final desired shape a bit akin to protein folding but more constrained an predictable
  • driving force for the folding may be thermally driven selfassembly or larger scale forces like electrostatics
  • assembly process may or may not be reversible (a structure stiffening post assembly interlinking may be desirable)
  • Pre-prodction of the blocks and the unfolded blockchain may be done though self assembly and or positional assembly
