A microcomponent recomposer is something like an incomplete technology level III nanofactory that only contains the upper assembly levels beginning with level III (or IIb). It can only shuffle existing microcomponents into new configurations to create different products.
Microcomponent maintainance units may do the same job as a microcomponent recomposer but less efficient.
