Deprectated terminology!
Since the term mixes up concepts in a wrong way.
Instead use one of:
- routing levels / routing layers – in-between assembly levels / assembly layers for
multiplexing many homogeneous streams of parts into singular heterogeneous streams - transport channels – not actually independent layers, rather integrated part of layers, leading into- or out-of them
