Author: Lukas M. Süss -- License: CC-BY 4.0 -- Date: 2016-01-11 -- Temporal trajectory (one dimensional in space) of potential wells for both the tool-tip (moving) and the work-piece-surface (static). It depicts the abstract concept for doing near reversible moiety deposition or abstraction by making the tip and the surface well state fittingly unfavorable at the right time-spans in the sequence. In a real mechanosynthesis operation wells are not arbitrarily shapeable and the problem is three-dimensional instead of one dimensional.
