Disclaimer
There is a high chance that the following is complete bogus.
Even if so, it should still be interesting to see an explanation explaining for why it is compete bogus.
One may think of this as a thought experiment or maybe even an actual experiment (unlikely to work).
The IQUIC
Imagine an extremely well isolating inverse quantum isolation chamber (IQUIC).
– somewhere out in deep space far from the suns barrage of neutrinos
– deep withing some asteroid
– withing a thick layer of isotope sorted shielding lead
– within many many layers of thermal isolation, an ultra cold separation layer to a warm inside.
Now the first big question:
Could the outside reality become quantum superposed relative to the inside occupant of the chamber?
Particularly either just by waiting or
could the occupant split the entere outside reality up into two macroscopically counterfactual
quantum superposed states via sending out some minimum amount of quantum coinflip randomly generates
data in a highly isolation preserving way?
Now second big question:
Assuming the outside reality is indeed long enough preserved in a macroscopically quantum superposed state.
Would it be then possible to apply some controlled wave collapse to the outside world by sending out data
in a similarly highly controlled way?
Specifically (and that is the big one)
Can the outcome of the state of outer reality be influenced (in for the occupant desirable ways)
by the order of measurements taken on the outside world?
For some context:
There is this experiment (using polarized light and polarization filters)
demonstrating that the order of measurements can influence the outcome of a quantum experiment
that involves wave collapse projections (as these are in analogy to the polarized light example).
Weird pseudo time machine
This setup is kind of like a weird pseudo time machine that can only
irreversibly go to alternate presents with the common past that is the time when
the occupant entered the inverse quantum isolation chamber (IQUIC).
Like a weird religion
The weirdest part of this whole scenario is that even if it works the only ones ever experiencing the altered reality will be the occupants.
From the perspective of outside observers it will never work as they see only occupants coming out dissapointed that it hasn't worked.
Or the very convinced ones that "know" that they had drawn the unlucky small end of the wave function.
So it will mightily look like a religion with a bunch of crackpots from the "outside".
