This page is a bit af a mess as it is now It is a mix of
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_architecture - (the conceptual model that defines the views of a system)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_design - (process of defining the architecture)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_engineering - (interdisciplinary field of engineering)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_architecture - (high level structures of a software system)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_design - (the process by which an agent creates a specification of a software artifact)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_engineering - (application of engineering to the design, development, and maintenance of software)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_architecture - (the identification of a system's physical components and their interrelationships)
I think several "orthogonal" classifications (view model) need to be entangled.
- Product and nanofactory (architecture/...) is also intermingled.
- nanosystems has a different classification
- abstract system, hardware, software intermingled
