This article is a stub. It needs to be expanded.

Special case of Twice the surface area of half the volume.

Countering this scaling law

The scaling law of higher throughput of smaller machinery
is countering/compensating the issue/concern of increasing friction losses strongly and effectively
by implying that only a very small volume of nanomachinery is needed.
(thin surface of a chip not volume filling) is needed.

The engineering trick of increasing bearing area to decrease friction
can counter this scaling law for slightly bigger structures
by exploiting that sliding friction losses fall quadratically with speed
while sliding friction losses only rise linearly with area.
