The killer features of APM

Basically two things:

• Digital control over matter - establishing and maintaining machine phase – Note that 3D-printing is NOT digital control over matter!
• Emulation of complex (mechanical) properties from simple base materials:
  Gemstone based metamaterials, mechanical metamaterials, metamaterials
• Bonus third: Eventually high performance base materials. See: Gemstone-like compound & The defining traits of gem-gum-tec

The former is a critical basis for making technology as robust as life eventually.
The latter makes the technology much easier to achieve and access.

Mechanical metamaterials (advanced systems context)

Just like a smartphones display can display any kind of image with just pixels of three base colors,
a gemstone based on chip factory will be able to extrude any kind of product with just some base parts out of some base materials.
