Basically using the [[ReChain]] system to not only make &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
modular quickly recomposable struts for space-frames/space-trusses like [[RepRec base truss]]. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
But using it to make stacks including bearings, sprockets, and possibly even gears.&lt;br /&gt;

== Automated robotic handling ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sprocket stacks can avert the need for the handling of long axles with high aspect ratio. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
These may be more difficult to handle automatedly robotically. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Same as with [[ReChain]] for mere passive struts.&lt;br /&gt;

== Self centering ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sprocket stacks can make extensive use of [[Hirth joint]]s &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
for the needed self-centering aspect of [[ReChain]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
== Pre tensioning ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The stack needs to be tensioned hard just like a [[ReChain]] strut. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
⚠️ But beware. Included bearings need a separate lower clamping force pre-tension. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
So far the bearings are pretensionable by tunable axial force. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Conical gear-bearings (aka tapered gear bearings) &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
can be nice as some applied pre-tension can remove backlash basically to zero. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Full cycloid profiles are needed as involute tooth profiles are not meant to be pressed together. &amp;lt;bt&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Or soft atomic teeth at nanoscale somehow maybe …&lt;br /&gt;
